Stress-free dental implants are possible at Melko Dental
One of the primary dental services we provide at Melko Dental in Mountain View is dental implants. A dental implant is an artificial, titanium root placed in the jawbone in the area of the missing tooth. The titanium root is highly compatible with natural tissues and has the ability to successfully integrate with the natural bone tissue, providing a very stable and strong foundation for the crown to be placed. The result we achieve in our Mountain View office is a complete replacement of both the root and the visible portion of the tooth, which looks, feels, and performs like a natural tooth.
We accomplish all of this with a high level of preplanning using modern CAD/CAM technology for a guided implant surgery resulting in the implant placement being durable, long-lasting, and predictable. Whether the patient is receiving one or multiple dental implants, implant-supported bridge, or denture, we at Melko Dental have extensive training and experience in dental implant placements, and we make the procedure as stress-free and pain-free as possible.
Why dental implants can be a better choice than dentures
A permanent option for your smile
We believe that patients who practice regular oral hygiene should be able to expect that their dental implants will last a lifetime.
Like natural teeth, dental implants stay in place, which is one of the biggest benefits of dental implants. Dr. Melko can show you during your consultation how dentures move around are require adhesive to keep from shifting in your mouth.
A more natural appearance
The crown for a dental implant can be created to match the color of the patient's natural teeth which gives a natural, real-looking appearance. Unless examined closely, no one will be able to tell you're using a dental implant.
Higher quality of life
Since dental implants and their crowns function like natural teeth, how they factor into the patient's quality of life must be considered. Many people find that their dentures can interfere with eating, speaking, and other activities. Finally, many people find that wearing dentures can be very uncomfortable whereas once placed, dental implants can feel the same as normal teeth.
